United Methodist Church From birth though age 25 I was a regularly attending member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church (presently Juniata Methodist) in Altoona, PA. I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior under the ministry of Reverend Jay Saxe at the time of my confirmation into membership at age 12. I was active in church youth ministries and I served on several boards and commissions.
Campus Crusade for Christ International Now Know as CRU (www.cru.org) As a student attending IUP (Indiana University of Pennsylvania) Actively involved in the Crusade student ministry on campus.
Following graduation served on as a staff member with Campus Crusade for Christ working with a ministry called Paragon Productions. Traveled around the country presenting evangelistic multi-media programs for youth, business and campus ministries.
While with Campus Crusade attended two seminary level training sessions taking the following courses: New Testament, Survey of Christian Doctrine, Inductive Bible Study Methods, Argumentation and Debate, Soteriology, New Testament History Books and the book of I Timothy.
Worked with the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ as a volunteer staff member with the CRU ministry at the Altoona Campus of Penn State University.
Evangelical Free Church While attending college at IUP was actively involved as student member of Calvary Evangelical Free Church in Indiana, PA.
Community Bible Church Served as the youth pastor at Community Bible Church in Altoona, PA for 10 years Starting in 2003 I served as an Elder and as a Minister of the Gospel until the congregation chose to reorganize the church at the end of May 2011.
Midtown Church Served as an Elder and as a Minister of the Gospel with a new church-plant started by the former members of Community Bible Church starting in 2011. At the end of 2019 the church chose to dissolve, encouraging member to bless other community churches with their involvement.
DiscipleMakers (www.dm.org) For three and a half years worked with the State College-based campus ministry of DiscipleMakers. DM seeks to place campus ministries on college campuses that have little or no ministry representation.
Hawks Haven Ranch Helped to operate and promote a summer day camp program for children in 2009 and 2010. Aided with the main teaching and evangelistic focus of the camp.
Altoona Lighthouse (www.altoonalighthouse.org ) For the last 25 years I have been involved in a local ministry that brings men from many denominations together every Saturday morning at 7AM for a time of praise and teaching. Presently serving as a board member and frequent speaker and regular teacher at the Wednesday night Family Bible Study. Created and maintain the altoonalighthouse.org web site.
Child Evangelism Fellowship (www.cefonline.com) Served on the board of Child Evangelism Fellowship for South Central Pennsylvania.
World Missions Lead a missions team of 6 teens and 6 adults to England to work with two churches.
Involved in the promotion and development of a team going to Haiti to work with the orphanage Maison de Lumiere (The Lighthouse) in Port Au Prince. Six students from Penn State Altoona are taking part in this project this summer.
Perspectives on the World Christian Movement (www.perspectives.org) Graduate of the course, Perspectives on the World Christian Movement. An internationally recognized course that discusses the history and theory behind Christian Missionary activity around the world. The course emphasizes how to minister in various international contexts. Perspectives is accredited by Geneva College and the credits are accepted by Penn State as an Anthropology course.
Ghana Involved in the promotion and development of a team going to Ghana in Northwest Africa. Working with missions schools and churches in northern Ghana. Continuing to work with on-going efforts to supply these same schools with needed supplies. Maintaining the Facebook page “Love to Ghana” to promote and support this annual project.
